This MacKenzie Beach property has been in the ownership of one family since it was purchased by Roderick MacKenzie in 1890.

A plan has been developed to allow limited and sustainable development of the shoreline while protecting the majority of the land from future development. Only seven per cent of the 140 acre MacKenzie family property will be built on; the remainder will be protected for future generations.

One of the early settlers of Liberty Lake was a wealthy businessman, Roderick MacKenzie, who in 1890 purchased 160 acres around what is now called "Mackenzie Bay" and with it the most beautiful natural sand beach on the lake. This site has been developted into the finest beachfront community on Liberty Lake.
